If you vacation in Door County, make sure to take a ferry ride over to Washington Island. It sits at the top of Wisconsin’s thumb.
On the island there are several lavender farms. In August, you can stroll around the fields of purple flowers and inhale the calming aroma of fresh lavender. It’s one of Wisconsin’s many gems and makes for a delightful adventure. No doubt, the heavenly scent of lavender will stay with you long after your visit.
